Project overview
City Facilities Management needed to overhaul their existing internal staff intranet. The old system suffered from a convoluted user experience, leading to low employee adoption, fragmented asset libraries and poor communication across departments.
To address this I designed CityHub, an all in one internal staffing platform for their 6000 employees. I began research by conducting workshops with teams across the business to pinpoint their daily pain points and feature needs. I then redesigned the platform from the ground up - building intuitive navigation for essential tools like holiday management, benefits, company news, and central documents. I also integrated a collaborative forum board for cross-team discussions and a dedicated internal job portal to support employee career advancement, if staff are able to contribute then they are more likely to engage with a platform and gain value from it.
Outcome
Increased Adoption & Engagement: Rebuilt the UX based on direct staff workshops, making daily tasks like holiday booking and document access effortless.
Centralised Communication: Designed a dedicated forum system to break down departmental silos and drive cross-team collaboration.
Internal Job Portal Integration: Built an integrated careers hub directly into the intranet to streamline internal recruitment and support mobility within the company.
